Djerring Flemington Hub

Djerring Flemington Hub

Island Block & Paving’s sustainable bricks, blocks and pavers were selected for the high-profile Djerring Flemington Community Hub at Debneys Park, Melbourne.

The recently completed project was designed by Architects Croxon Ramsay with construction by McCorkell Construction for the Moonee Valley Council. The new community hub was designed to achieve a 5-Star Green Star rating with the Green Building Council of Australia

The material selection during the design process was based on a strict criterion to ensure durability. Other key focus was on the use of recycled content, impact on biodiversity, and preference to sourcing from renewable sources and responsible practices.

Island Block & Paving supplied Greentag level A certified products made from an engineered sand derived from recycled glass.

Products included Natural ECO Blocks, Coloured Blocks for the Future, Bricks for the Future and Pavers for the Future, all in various colours, types, and surface finishes.
