Blocks for the Future offer designers the opportunity to create high quality, sustainable structure using architectural building blocks comprising an engineered sand made from processed coloured glass aggregates which will last a lifetime. With a patented range of finishes including smooth, exposed aggregate, diamond brushed and polished, Blocks for the Future are making it easy to be “green”.
After manufacture the blocks are then treated to expose the glass sand particles on the surface, these finishes have never been seen in the marketplace before and are unique to Island Block & Paving. Due to the cementitious value of the finely crushed glass, cement usage is reduced by 10% – therefore importantly reducing CO2 emissions whilst still achieving excellent product strength.

Coloured Building Blocks
Island Block & Paving produce a full range of coloured building blocks. The range is made to order and available in a large variety of colours and textures including smooth, split and exposed aggregate finishes.
To ensure longevity of colour and appearance all coloured blocks are manufactured with Tech-Dry water-repellent additive. Coloured building blocks from Island Block & Paving provide a low maintenance wall finish that allows designers the flexibility of incorporating various sizes, colours and finishes to complete the most impressive of contemporary designs, all at an affordable price.
Exposed Aggregate Blocks
Island Block & Paving offer a comprehensive range of Carbon Neutral certfied exposed aggregate finished building blocks, all available in a variety of colours and surface finishes.
Additionally; exposed aggregate blocks can be manufactured specifically to an architect’s specification ie. block colour, colour of aggregate and the degree of shot blasting can all be varied to suit an individual design.
Exposed aggregate blocks are used for many applications including upmarket residential homes, commercial buildings and feature walls.
